Pearson is seeking qualified individuals to score Massachusetts teacher licensure responses remotely. The role involves evaluating test questions across Dance, Digital Literacy & Computer Science, History, Music, Technology Engineering, and Theater, with a starting rate of $17.50 per hour and flexible scheduling.

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, a valid teaching certification in the subject, and public-school experience, or be eligible as faculty preparing candidates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant subject.
  • Current teaching certification in the subject area and 2+ years of public school experience.
  • Or college/university faculty experience preparing candidates in the subject.
  • Graduate students teaching courses in the subject area may qualify.
  • Active or recently retired practitioners can be eligible to score.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate responses to test questions by Massachusetts teacher candidates.
  • Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities.
  • Recognize and discuss bias types and implement strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring.
  • Meet quality and productivity requirements for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test.
  • Starting rate of $17.50 per hour, working remotely.
