Job summary

Hanwha Qcells USA Corp in Houston, TX seeks a SCADA Engineer – Level 2 to design, develop, and deploy SCADA systems for utility-scale PV and BESS projects. You will work with relay programming, Modbus/DNP3/IEC 61850, and IT security to ensure reliable plant operations.

The role reports to Engineering leadership and offers remote work with up to 30% travel, Monday–Friday hours, and opportunities to advance in a growing solar EPC environment.

Qualifications

• Experience programming relays and control devices for power plant automation.
• Knowledge of SCADA protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850).
• Understanding IT networks and cybersecurity principles.
• Experience with electrical generation and control systems for utility‑scale solar or BESS projects.
• Proficiency with Visio or similar tools; CCNA or related certification helpful.

Responsibilities

• SCADA system design, development, and deployment for utility‑scale solar and BESS projects.
• Configure, test, and troubleshoot SCADA communications and cybersecurity controls.
• Collaborate with EPC contractors, vendors, and utilities to implement projects.
• Support site commissioning, FAT, and remote troubleshooting; document configurations and security guidelines.
