Job summary

SOLV Energy in the United States is seeking an engineering level SCADA specialist to design, develop and deliver SOLV SCADA solutions for utility-scale solar and battery projects. The role offers hybrid in-office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR or fully remote depending on interview outcomes.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define standards, program SCADA servers, HMIs and data historians, and provide on-site commissioning support as needed.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of SCADA engineering experience in renewable energy.
• Proficiency with Python.
• Ignition SCADA platform knowledge.
• Experience with PLC environments such as Schweitzer, Allen-Bradley, GE/Emerson.
• Familiar with SCADA networks (Fiber, RS-232/RS-485, Ethernet).
• Knowledge of Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA programming.
• Ability to read and develop diagrams and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Execute design and development of SCADA integration components for utility-scale solar and BESS projects.
• Collaborate with team to define design standards and best practices.
• Review and implement project-specific requirements for scope.
• Generate device points lists, HMI mockups, assets, commissioning test plans, and checklists.
• Program and commission SCADA servers, data historians, and HMI systems.
• Review closeout docs to verify contractual deliverables.
• Provide intermediate technical support for diverse SCADA configurations.
• Participate in technical discussions with customers and partners.
• Assist with maintaining a centralized knowledge base.
• Apply diagnostic utilities to troubleshoot plant monitoring and control systems.
• Coordinate with customers and field technicians for on-site commissioning.
• Identify and learn software/hardware used by organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support platform development and data integration.
• Provide project status reports and support risk mitigation.
• Promote a culture of NERC compliance and governance.
• Support SOLV Operations center for project integrations and handoffs.
