Job summary

Cengage is seeking a Sales Consultant in San Diego, CA to support sales execution and administrative operations. You will plan strategies with sales leadership, provide essential admin support, and maintain Salesforce data across opportunities, accounts, and territories.

You will pull CRM reports, assist with contract alignment and billing questions, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to drive customer engagement and territory execution.

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree strongly preferred.
• Experience in sales or customer interaction.
• Direct sales, marketing or editorial experience.
• Experience working with digital sales products/applications and contact management systems, such as Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and support selling strategies in partnership with sales leadership and other sales personnel.
• Provide day-to-day administrative support that enables sales teams to focus on customer engagement and revenue-generating activity.
• Update and maintain Salesforce, including opportunity, account, contact, activity, and territory information as needed.
• Pull and organize CRM and Sales Operations reports to support opportunity analysis, territory planning, forecasting, and follow-up.
• Assist with contract alignment, order processing and review, billing questions or reviews, and related customer or internal follow-through.
• Manage and support content mapping exercises and other customer-specific sales support activities.
• Support marketing and sales initiatives as they relate to account development, customer engagement, and territory execution.
• Coordinate effectively with Sales Management, Account Directors, Customer Success, Solutions Specialists, and other cross-functional partners.
• Identify process gaps, customer trends, or recurring needs and communicate recommendations that can improve sales execution or customer support.
