Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Manager of Sales Engineering to lead a high-performing team, guide technical deals, and drive merchant integrations across the enterprise. You’ll mentor engineers, participate in live technical discovery, and partner with leaders across Revenue, Engineering, and Product.

You will maintain deep product knowledge, lead sandbox integrations, and apply AI tools to prototypes and testing, ensuring scalable, impactful merchant solutions.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in business or technology.
• 4–6+ years of experience in Sales Engineering or comparable role, plus 3–4 years of people management.
• Hands-on experience leading technical customer conversations and deals.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Sales Engineers with clear expectations for technical proficiency and performance.
• Support live technical discovery, integration discussions, and solution presentations in deals.
• Partner with merchant technical and business leaders when leadership involvement is required.
• Develop deep knowledge of Aff’s products, APIs, and integration options to evaluate solutions and explain tradeoffs.
• Build, test, and troubleshoot integrations in sandbox or simulated environments and coach the team.
• Apply AI development tools in technical work and coach the team to use them for prototypes and testing.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Revenue to design merchant solutions and address gaps.
• Translate merchant requirements into actionable product feedback.
