Job summary

Affirm, Inc. seeks a senior Sales Engineer Lead to mentor a team and drive technical excellence across merchant integrations.

You will actively participate in deals, lead technical discussions, and collaborate with engineering, product, and revenue teams to design effective merchant solutions. A strong hands-on background with APIs and at least one programming language is required, along with 4–6+ years in sales engineering and 3–4 years of people management.

Qualifications

• 4–6+ years in Sales Engineering or comparable customer-facing technical role.
• 3–4 years of people management experience.
• Proven track record developing technical talent and guiding deals.
• Hands-on with API-based integrations and technical discussions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Sales Engineers with clear expectations.
• Participate in deals, supporting live technical discovery and presentations.
• Partner with merchant leaders for complex opportunities requiring leadership.
• Develop deep knowledge of Affirm products, APIs, and integration options.
• Build, test, and troubleshoot integrations in sandbox environments.
• Use AI tools in development and coach the team to apply them effectively.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Revenue to design merchant solutions.
• Translate merchant requirements into actionable product feedback.
• Create a respectful environment that supports growth and feedback.
