Job summary

Sumitomo Pharma America (SMPA) is seeking an experienced Sales Training Manager to design, develop, and deliver high-impact training for the Commercial field sales team. You will collaborate with Marketing, Market Access, Sales Leadership and Compliance to align training with brand objectives and corporate priorities.

The role focuses on onboarding new hires, enhancing performance of seasoned reps, and reinforcing capabilities through NSMs, POA meetings, and field initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
• Minimum of 3 years of field sales experience.
• Minimum of 1 year in a field trainer, sales training, or equivalent role.
• Demonstrated experience supporting onboarding and sales capability development.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver comprehensive training curricula for new hire onboarding (Phase 1 and Phase 2).
• Lead end-to-end facilitation of New Hire Training (NHT) and ensure readiness and certification.
• Develop training content for POA and NSMs; partner with cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Manage training projects from concept through execution with timelines and quality standards.
• Gather feedback and drive continuous improvement; support strategic learning initiatives.
