Job summary

Guidant Financial in the United States is seeking a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to learn the full process of administering, testing, and reporting 401(k) plans. You will progress from document review to handling basic plan administration with accelerated training and hands-on experience.

You will review client documents, keep clients updated, assist with year-end reporting and IRS Form 5500 filings, and use Excel and reporting software to ensure accuracy and compliance across projects.

Qualifications

• 1 to 5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with 401(k) or IRA administration, recordkeeping, distributions and rollovers.
• Knowledge of IRS Form 5500 or year-end reporting preferred.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business/finance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain necessary information to prepare the annual reporting.
• Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans with rollovers and plan stock using Excel and administration software.
• Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make outgoing reminder calls and emails to clients during the plan year reporting process.
• Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including IRS Form 5500.
• Educate clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plan and documents.
