Job summary

Guidant Financial is seeking a Retirement Plan Specialist to learn the full process of administering, testing, and reporting on 401(k) plans. Through accelerated training you will grow from document review to program administration, reviewing client documents and communicating progress, including year-end reporting and 5500 filings.

You will learn through hands-on practice, with support to understand 401(k) plan documents and education for clients.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem solving.
• Experience in customer service, organization, and collaboration.
• Basic math and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in business/finance or equivalent experience preferred.
• Knowledge of 401(k) plan basics and IRS/DOL regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain information to prepare annual reporting.
• Review documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans with rollovers and plan stock using Excel and admin software.
• Use software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make reminder calls and send emails during plan year reporting.
• Prepare 401(k) filings, including IRS Form 5500.
• Educate clients on administration of their 401(k) plans.
