Job summary

Guidant Financial seeks a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist for a fully remote role supporting clients nationwide. You will learn end-to-end administration of 401(k) plans, reviewing documents, performing plan testing, and preparing year-end reporting including IRS Form 5500.

You will communicate with clients, keep them updated on progress, and gain practical experience through accelerated training and hands-on responsibilities in a growing ESOP‑journey company.

Qualifications

• 1 to 5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Direct retirement-plan operations experience preferred
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or finance preferred
• Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure and IRS/DOL regulations preferred
• Experience with reconciliation as a daily job responsibility is preferred

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain necessary information to prepare the annual reporting
• Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy
• Reconcile plans using Excel and administration software
• Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting
• Make outgoing reminder calls and send emails to clients during the plan year reporting process
• Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including IRS Form 5500
• Educate clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plan
