Job summary

Toast is expanding its Retail platform and seeks a Retail Business Development Representative (BDR) to join a founding team. You will build and qualify opportunities in a high-velocity sales process, generating target lists, performing outbound outreach, and setting up meetings for Account Executives.

The role emphasizes a founder’s mindset, willingness to hit daily activity metrics, and collaboration with the sales team to position Toast in the market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong prospecting and outbound outreach skills.
• Able to generate lists and qualify retailers for a SaaS solution.

Responsibilities

• Generate lists of prospective retailers (convenience stores, grocery stores, bottle shops).
• Execute high-volume outreach to determine mutual fit.
• Complete 80 activities daily (cold calls).
• Conduct qualification calls to understand needs and fit.
• Schedule meetings with qualified prospects for Account Executives.
• Collaborate with Account Executives on strategy and messaging.
• Use Salesforce to manage activities and track progress.
• Understand competitive landscape and position Toast in the market.
