Job summary

Zippy, a remote-first lender specializing in manufactured home loans, seeks a Manager, Quality Assurance to lead pre-close and post-close QA programs across the loan origination lifecycle. You will coach QA analysts, manage performance, and ensure findings align with policy, regulatory, and investor requirements.

You will translate QA data into practical recommendations to reduce repeat issues, streamline procedures, and strengthen quality without slowing the origination process.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in mortgage, consumer lending, manufactured housing lending, loan operations, underwriting, quality assurance, quality control, compliance, or a comparable financial services function
• 3+ years of direct people-management experience, including coaching, performance management, training, workload planning, and employee development
• Experience overseeing both pre-close and post-close quality reviews strongly preferred
• Strong investigative and research skills with ability to navigate multiple systems
• Must interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and investor requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of QA professionals responsible for pre-close and post-close loan reviews
• Manage performance concerns promptly and consistently, including documenting expectations and improvement plans
• Assess training needs and deliver or coordinate training, calibration, mentoring, and development opportunities
• Oversee the execution of pre-close and post-close quality assurance reviews across the full loan origination process
• Maintain strong quality controls by monitoring findings and investor responses
• Escalate material risks and track corrective actions through resolution
• Manage daily work queues, assignments, and team capacity across reviews
• Monitor pipeline volume, aging, turnaround times, and workload distribution
• Balance speed and quality to support origination without sacrificing control
• Translate QA data into actionable insights for managers and leadership
• Maintain subject matter expertise across end-to-end loan origination process
• Interpret and apply internal policies and investor guidelines to complex file scenarios
• Navigate multiple platforms to reconstruct file activity and validate evidence
• Lead the team through policy/process changes and provide training
• Lead QA planning, goals, and risk initiatives
• Lead the team through organizational changes and volume fluctuations
• Partner with managers to deliver improvements reducing repeat findings and increasing throughput
• Ensure QA remains independent and credible with cross-functional partners
• Provide equity and remote-first work culture
