Job summary

Scion Staffing, Inc. has been engaged to conduct a search for a Registration & Advising Specialist for a higher education client.

This full-time temporary remote role supports students through course registration, reviews academic records, and helps plan schedules. The ideal candidate will be proficient with Ellucian Colleague, possess strong communication and organizational skills, and be able to coordinate with academic and administrative teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in academic advising, student services, or a related higher education support function.
• Hands-on proficiency with Ellucian Colleague, including student registration and reviewing academic program evaluations.
• Ability to interpret academic requirements, identify outstanding coursework, and align student needs with available course offerings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to providing an inclusive and positive student experience.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment in recognizing when to elevate questions or connect students with additional resources.

Responsibilities

• Proactively connect with current and returning students to support registration for upcoming academic terms.
• Review student academic records and program evaluations in Ellucian Colleague to identify outstanding course requirements.
• Compare remaining academic requirements with available course schedules to identify appropriate registration options.
• Register students for courses based on their academic needs, course availability, and preferred full-time or part-time enrollment status.
• Communicate registration confirmations, course selections, and relevant next steps to students in a clear, supportive, and timely manner.
• Collaborate with appropriate academic and administrative departments to address questions, resolve registration concerns, and refer students for additional guidance when needed.
