Job summary

Sumitomo Pharma America is seeking a dynamic Manager, Regional Sales – Specialty to lead a field-based team of 8-10 Territory Sales Managers across a defined U.S. Region.

You will drive region-wide sales strategies, coach frontline reps, and ensure compliant, high-performance execution in a fast-paced, often startup-like environment. This remote, full-time role requires extensive travel (60-80%), a BA/BS and a proven track record in pharmaceutical sales management, including top-quartile

Qualifications

• A B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• 4 years’ experience in pharmaceutical sales management (first-line leader with direct people accountability) is preferred.
• A proven, consistent, and documented track record of top ranked pharmaceutical performance (ideally top 25% of the nation) is required.
• 3 or more years of Urology experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that established sales budgets and objectives are achieved/exceeded across each territory and the Region as a whole.
• Demonstrate ‘Catalyst Leadership’ by leading the team in a humble yet inspiring manner using sound judgement and instilling ownership, accountability, and purposeful action based on business opportunities.
• Provide regular coaching of each Sales Professional focused on sales effectiveness and development.
• Assess region trends and develop regional sales strategies and tactics aligning budgets with opportunities.
• Lead national projects that align to SMPA’s vision of becoming a leading specialty urology company.
• Build relationships with providers and customers; act as liaison for evolving market needs.
• Manage Region operations to meet performance targets and budgeted goals.
• Coordinate with Market Access, Marketing, Operations, HR, Training, Compliance, and Medical Science Liaison teams.
