The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Small Commercial Lines Technology Underwriter to join our Technology and Life Sciences Underwriting team in Massachusetts and New York. This is a full-time, exempt role with a hybrid or remote work arrangement.

You will identify, underwrite, and price Technology accounts, collaborate with claims and risk solutions, and develop territory business plans while maintaining underwriting discipline and strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3–7+ years in standard commercial lines underwriting; accounts $100K+ preferred.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting principles, pricing methodology, and risk assessment.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; consult effectively with stakeholders.
• Negotiation and sound judgment in business decisions.
• Adaptability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities.

Responsabilités

• Identify, solicit, underwriting and price Technology accounts; drive profitable growth.
• Apply underwriting concepts, risk selection, coverage implications and loss analysis.
• Utilize underwriting tools and adhere to guidelines for profitability.
• Understand pricing components and correlate to exposure and financial analysis.
• Prepare and review adverse decisions; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Claims, Risk Solutions, and Operations to showcase expertise.
• Develop Territory Business Plans and market capabilities to agents.
