Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Commercial Lines Technology Underwriter to join our Technology and Life Sciences Underwriting team. This senior role supports hybrid or fully remote work, with responsibilities spanning technical underwriting, portfolio management, and strategic agency partnerships.

Ideal candidates bring 5–10+ years in commercial lines and at least 5 years in Technology industry underwriting, plus strong communication and judgment skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 5–10+ years standard commercial lines; 5+ years Technology Industry experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication with internal/external partners.
• Ability to exercise judgment, negotiate and make sound business decisions.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects with agility and prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and price Technology specialty coverages such as products, professional, and cyber liability with limited guidance.
• Manage assigned portfolio to achieve gross written premium, new business, profitability, rate, retention, and book mix goals.
• Act as a mentor to develop team members and serve as a knowledge resource.
• Develop territory business plans and maintain a strong pipeline (Salesforce).
• Present to agents and customers on complex accounts and coordinate with Claims, Risk Solutions and Operations.
