bioMerieux is seeking a Field Systems Engineer to service customers across a geographic territory and nationally as needed. The role emphasizes remote work with overnight travel, installations, maintenance, and repairs to ensure instruments meet specifications.

The ideal candidate will have a engineering or related degree and 2+ years of troubleshooting experience, with a valid driver's license and the ability to travel extensively. Training opportunities are provided at company sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical or other related discipline.
• 2+ years of professional related experience in troubleshooting and/or repair of complex electro-mechanical, electronic, computer, electrical systems in commercial, industrial, or military setting.
• Education Substitution: 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to ensure instruments meet specifications.
• Build trust with customers, promote service agreements, and identify sales opportunities for cross-functional teams.
• Foster teamwork across service and support teams while driving field service revenue through billable offerings like preventive maintenance and equipment moves.
• Attend 6–9 weeks of product training at Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO offices within the first year; future trainings as needed.
• Travel includes daily visits with possible overnight stays and occasional national travel.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation (~every 5 weeks).
• Complete service work orders, QA checklists, and training requirements accurately.
• Maintain travel calendar and submit expense reports regularly.
