Job summary

EY is seeking a Manager in the Service Delivery Center to balance hands-on software engineering with project leadership. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support while staying close to code.

You will mentor engineers, manage dependencies, coordinate across time zones, and collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, DevOps, security, and client stakeholders to translate requirements into achievable delivery plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 6+ years of technology software development experience, including leading project teams or delivery workstreams.
• Hands-on coding with Java and Spring Boot, including microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Angular or React and guiding full-stack engineering decisions.
• Experience deploying and supporting enterprise apps on a major cloud platform.
• Experience with CI/CD, containers, unit/integration tests, and code-quality gates.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery practices and distributed teams.
• Proven mentorship and coaching to improve engineering practices and capability.
• Experience with asynchronous/event-driven architectures using Kafka or equivalent.
• Experience with logging/monitoring/observability tools like Splunk.
• Knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, or Flink for data processing.
• Ability to manage delivery risks, production issues, and client communications.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of software engineering work across planning, design, development, testing, release, and production support.
• Remain hands-on with coding, reviews, troubleshooting, and technical proof-of-concepts.
• Guide solution design using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, and modern UI frameworks.
• Plan and manage Agile delivery, including backlog refinement, sprints, estimation, and release readiness.
• Coordinate work across geographically distributed teams and ensure clear ownership and handoffs.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, feedback, and career development conversations.
• Partner with product owners, architects, QA, DevOps, security, and client stakeholders to translate requirements into plans.
• Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks, and delivery metrics; suggest actions.
• Promote secure development, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and operations readiness.
• Support event-driven and data-processing solutions with Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, or Flink as needed.
