Job summary

EY is seeking a Manager in the Service Delivery Center to balance hands-on software engineering with project leadership. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support while remaining close to code and technical decisions.

You will coordinate delivery across geographically distributed teams, mentor engineers, manage dependencies and risks, and maintain clear communication with client and engagement stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 6+ years of technology software development experience, including leading project teams or major delivery workstreams.
• Hands-on coding with Java and Spring Boot, including microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Angular or React and guiding full-stack engineering decisions.
• Experience building and supporting enterprise apps on a major cloud platform.
• Experience with CI/CD, containers, testing, and code-quality gates.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery, sprint planning and backlog management.
• Leadership of distributed teams across geographies and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Mentorship and coaching to improve engineering practices.
• Event-driven architectures using Kafka or equivalent.
• Observability and monitoring with Splunk or similar.
• Hadoop/Spark/Flink for batch or real-time processing.
• Ability to manage delivery risks and client communications.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of software engineering work across planning, design, development, testing, release, and production support.
• Remain hands-on with coding, code reviews, troubleshooting, and technical proof-of-concepts.
• Guide solution design using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, and front-end frameworks.
• Plan and manage Agile delivery with backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release readiness.
• Coordinate work across geographically distributed teams and ensure clear ownership and timely decisions.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, design reviews, and career development conversations.
• Partner with product owners, architects, QA, DevOps, security, operations, and clients to translate requirements into plans.
• Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks, and delivery metrics; communicate progress and elevate impediments.
• Promote secure development, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and operational readiness.
• Support event-driven and data-processing solutions using Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, or Flink when required.
