Job summary

Banner Health is seeking an experienced Physician Coder to join our Radiology coding team. The role requires active CPC certification, with CPC-A considered if radiology coding experience is at least 6 months. Coding CT, Ultrasounds and all modalities are part of the scope.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and formal training in medical records practices.
• Requires active CPC, CCS, CCS-P, CCA, CPC-A, RHIA, or RHIT certification.
• At least 6 months of professional coding experience; radiology coding preferred.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of ICD and CPT coding principles as per AHIMA/AAPC guidelines.
• Remote work capability and ability to use coding software and abstracting systems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates medical records and assigns appropriate ICD/ CPT codes.
• Abstracts diagnoses and procedures into EMR with complete documentation.
• Ensures compliance with coding rules and CMS/HCFA regulations.
• Produces daily/monthly reports for analysis as required.
• Works remotely with flexible scheduling and access to support resources.
