Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a motivated, experienced Physician Coder with 6 months to 1 year of radiology coding experience to join our team. The role is fully remote with CPC active status and focuses on CT, Ultrasound, and other modalities.

We offer a remote work environment, flexible schedule, training for 1 month+, and growth opportunities across Banner Health. The ideal candidate will have radiology coding experience and strong knowledge of ICD/CPT guidelines.

Qualifications

• CPC, CCS, CCS-P, CCA, CPC-A, RHIA or RHIT in active status with AHIMA or AAPC.
• Six months providing professional coding services in a broad range of health care facilities.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of ICD and CPT coding principles as demonstrated by certification.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes medical information from records and codes diagnostic and procedural information per national guidelines.
• Abstracts diagnoses and documents information into EMR; follows up for missing data.
• Provides quality assurance for medical records and ensures compliance with coding rules and regulations.
• Compiles daily and monthly reports and supports data analysis for research.
• Works independently under supervision, using coding knowledge for ICD/CPT assignments and to interpret guidelines.
