Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a motivated Physician Coder to join our Radiology group remotely. You will code CT, ultrasounds, and other modalities with a CPC in active status and at least 6 months of radiology coding experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent with specialized training in medical record keeping or an Associate’s degree.
• Active CPC/CCS/CCS-P/CCA/RHIA/RHIT certification in good standing with AHIMA or AAPC.
• Six months of professional coding experience in a healthcare setting.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of ICD and CPT coding principles as per AHIMA coding competencies.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes medical information and accurately codes diagnostic and procedural information according to national guidelines.
• Abstracts clinical diagnoses and documents pertinent information into EMR; coordinates with providers for clarification.
• Ensures compliance with coding rules and regulations for CMS, HCFA, and state Medicaid plans; supports data accuracy for reports.
• Compiles daily/monthly reports and analyzes data from medical records as needed.
• Works independently following department productivity and quality standards; seeks guidance for correct ICD/CPT interpretations.
