Job summary

Kapitus is seeking a hands-on QE Automation Lead to own the automation strategy, framework, and team delivering automated regression across UI, API, integration, end-to-end, and data layers. You will set standards, govern the framework, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product, Development, DevOps, and Architecture.

You will drive the shift from manual regression to automated coverage, integrate tests into CI/CD, and define actionable quality metrics while staying aligned with fintech

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software quality engineering with automation leadership.
• Ability to lead distributed QE teams without direct reporting lines.
• Hands-on automation design, coding, debugging, and reviews (Playwright/TypeScript).
• Experience building scalable automation frameworks across UI, API, integration, end-to-end, and data layers.
• Strong software architecture knowledge, OOP, and maintainable automation practices.
• Experience defining quality KPIs and using metrics for decisions and improvement.
• Experience with API testing, test-data management, SQL, and service integration testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation strategy and technical direction across multiple QE teams and streams.
• Partner with Product, DevOps, Architecture, and Leadership on priorities and release readiness.
• Design, evolve, and govern scalable automation frameworks and reusable components.
• Set automation standards for test design, code quality, reviews, branching, data, and reporting.
• Develop, review, and optimize automated tests across UI, API, integration, and data layers.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for fast, reliable feedback.
• Define and report quality metrics such as coverage, pass rate, and defect trends.
• Mentor QE engineers and drive cross-team adoption of automation practices.
• Coordinate distributed delivery and remove roadblocks to ensure accountability.
• Shift-left quality through testability improvements and in-sprint automation.
