Job summary

State Farm is hiring a Property Field Inspection Claim Specialist in the United States to conduct on-site inspections for homeowners and commercial properties, including large losses. You will use field and remote work to support claims, gathering evidence and engaging with policyholders and agents.

You will assess coverage, document findings, and progress claims through to settlement, delivering Remarkable service while complying with policy terms and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Ability to investigate problems, evaluate information, and make well-supported decisions.
• Ability to interpret detailed policies, guidelines, or technical information and apply them accurately.
• Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar concepts, processes, and terminology and apply that knowledge.
• Ability to interact with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders to move claims forward.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for handling difficult conversations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections and assessments of property damages for both residential and commercial claims
• Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other involved parties to gather information and resolve claims efficiently
• May occasionally require interacting with emotionally charged parties during inspections or resolutions
• Provide exceptional customer service throughout the claims process, addressing inquiries promptly and professionally
• Gather evidence, document findings, and prepare detailed reports to support the claims process
• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000
• Evaluate coverage and policy terms to determine claim validity and regulatory compliance
• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits, considering policy provisions and standards
