Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Field Claims Specialist II, Property to cover Birmingham, AL and surrounding areas. This remote role involves day travel to policy locations via company vehicle, with occasional overnight travel and CAT duties. Requires 3–5 years of property claims experience and Xactimate proficiency.

Ideal candidates live in the Birmingham area and can relocate if outside 50 miles. Roles include on-site inspections, customer service excellence, and strong teamwork within the Claims

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of insurance field/property claims handling or adjusting experience.
• Solid experience writing own estimates and handling claims start to finish.
• Construction background/experience - Residential, Roofing, Remodeling, Water mitigation, etc
• Strong customer service competency and strong written & verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Handles all assigned claims promptly and effectively.
• Determines proper policy coverages and applies claims practices accordingly.
• Manages reserves and file conferencing notifications per procedures.
• Maintains knowledge of insurance laws, policies, and local market pricing.
• Submits reports to claims management and coordinates with SIU and Subrogation as needed.
• Delivers outstanding customer service and adheres to professional conduct.
