Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Field Claims Specialist II, Property to investigate and resolve moderate to severe property damage claims by phone and face-to-face. This remote role requires day travel to policy locations and potential overnight travel.

You will handle all assigned claims, determine coverages, adjust reserves, and work with internal teams to ensure accurate, timely settlements while maintaining exceptional customer service against a backdrop of CAT duty readiness.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of property claims handling experience.
• Proficient with Xactimate.
• Experience writing own estimates from start to finish.
• Construction background in residential, roofing/remodeling, water mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Handles all assigned claims promptly and effectively, with little direction.
• Determines proper policy coverages and applies claims practices.
• Opens/closes and adjusts reserves; adheres to notification procedures.
• Maintains knowledge of local repair procedures and pricing.
• Partners with SIU/Subrogation to identify fraud and subrogation.
• Delivers outstanding customer service to Nationwide customers.
