Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Field Claims Specialist II, Property for home-based work with travel to policy locations in MD. You will investigate and resolve property damage claims by phone and face-to-face, often visiting rooftops and site locations.

The role requires 3–5 years of property claims experience, strong customer service and Xactimate proficiency, and the ability to work across territories with occasional overnight travel. Benefits include medical/dental/vision and a pension plan.

Qualifications

• Education: Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
• Licensing: State licensing where required; Xactimate certs within 1–2 years.
• Experience: 3–5 years in property claims with customer service exposure.
• Knowledge: Insurance theory, pricing, and local repair procedures.

Responsibilities

• Makes prompt, effective decisions within delegated authority.
• Determines coverages and applies claims practices per policy.
• Opens/closes reserves; monitors file conferencing and notifications.
• Maintains knowledge of laws, guidelines, and market pricing.
• collaborates with SIU and Subrogation on fraud and subrogation.
• Delivers outstanding customer service and communicates clearly.
