Job summary

Invenergy is seeking a Project Engineer, Renewable Electrical Engineering (SCADA) to lead end-to-end SCADA delivery for wind, solar, and battery projects. You will shape designs, drive procurement, testing, and turnover, coordinating with plant controllers, OEMs, and operators to ensure safe, reliable startup.

You will secure the SCADA/OT/IT ecosystem, define energization plans, and ensure conformance with NERC and project requirements, while staying current on industry best practices through

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related degree.
• 4+ years of transmission, distribution, and/or generation SCADA systems experience.
• Knowledge of networking equipment that connects generation assets.
• Experience with industrial protocols such as OPC, DNP3, Modbus and EGD.
• Experience around HV/MV electrical infrastructure (substations, switchyards, lines, transformers).
• Ability to coordinate and manage multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; US work authorization.
• Up to 25% travel; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning and startup of SCADA and communications systems for wind, solar, and battery projects; ensure safe startup and clean turnover to Operations.
• Build and secure plant communications networks: IP plans, protocols, interfaces, firewall rules across SCADA/OT/IT.
• Collaborate with plant controllers, transmission operators, and OEMs to configure controls and data paths to meet grid requirements.
• Own energization and commissioning plan; define scope, sequence, readiness gates, and risk mitigations.
• Monitor construction progress remotely and on-site; resolve field issues and support commissioning with on-site programming.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align SCADA deliverables with project schedules.
