Job summary

Bowman is seeking a Project Accountant to join our team remotely, preferably in Central or Eastern time zone. You will support project cost accounting, reporting, and coordination across operations and accounting functions.

This role emphasizes timely analysis, collaboration, and accurate financial oversight to drive project success. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting, 7+ years of project accounting experience (preferably in A/E/C), and familiarity with GAAP and Deltek

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
• CMA/CPA preferred but not required.
• 7+ years of corporate project accounting experience.
• Prior project accounting in architecture/engineering/construction preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP.
• Knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint preferred; ERP system experience required.
• Must have AP full cycle exposure.
• Mergers and acquisitions experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reports on project cost accounting in adherence to company policies.
• Act as a liaison between operations and corporate accounting functions.
• Aid in review and analysis of key performance metrics to support operations management.
• Identify, research, and resolve project issues.
• Reconcile and analyze project cost reports for timely reporting.
• Assist the Regional Controller with various account reports and collections.
• Coordinate project billers and project managers for accurate setups and procedures.
• Update budgets, consultant budgets, scope, pricing, and change orders; provide reporting.
• Track project and business operating performance.
• Assist in project set-up for new projects; support monthly invoicing.
• Review vendor and subcontractor invoices.
• Contact customers about past due balances and collect up to 90 days.
• Assist Senior Account Manager in collections after 90 days.
• Prepare accounting schedules for collections and AR reporting.
• Assist with annual audit preparation and maintain petty cash reconciliations.
