Job summary

Bowman is seeking a Project Accountant to oversee and report on project cost accounting, primarily working remotely with a preference for the Eastern Time Zone. The role involves coordinating with operations, accounts payable, payroll, and project managers to ensure accurate billing and reporting.

You will analyze performance metrics, assist with audits, and support the Regional Controller with various accounting tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent relevant experience required.
• CMA/CPA preferred but not required.
• Seven or more (7+) years of corporate accounting experience preferred.
• Prior project accounting experience within the architecture, engineering, and/or construction industry preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP.
• Knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint preferred, experience with an ERP system required.
• Must have AP full cycle exposure.
• Previous experience with mergers and acquisitions a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and report on project cost accounting.
• Liaise between operations and accounting functions including AP and payroll.
• Review and analyze key performance metrics to support operations management.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement processes.
• Manage monthly invoicing process for projects.
• Review vendor and subcontractor invoices and processes.
• Contact customers concerning past due balances and collect them up to 90 days.
