Job summary

Bowman is seeking a Project Accountant to join our team remotely, preferably in the West Region (California/Nevada). This role oversees and reports on project cost accounting, supporting operations with precise financial data and insight.

The successful candidate has a CPA/CMA or equivalent, 7+ years of corporate accounting, and strong GAAP knowledge. Prior project accounting in A/E/CE and Deltek Vantagepoint experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent relevant experience.
• CMA or CPA preferred but not required.
• 7+ years of corporate accounting experience.
• Prior project accounting in architecture/engineering/construction preferred.
• Experience with Prevailing Wage.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP.
• Knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint preferred; ERP system experience required.
• Must have AP full cycle exposure.
• Mergers and acquisitions experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and report on project cost accounting in adherence to company policies.
• Act as a liaison between operations and accounting functions (AP, payroll, etc.).
• Review and analyze KPI to support operations management.
• Identify, research, and resolve project issues.
• Manage monthly invoicing process for projects.
• Prepare accounts with outstanding balances for escalation and collections.
