Job summary

Bowman is seeking a Project Accountant to oversee project cost accounting from a remote location, preferably in the West Region (California/Nevada). The role reports to the Regional Controller and acts as a liaison between operations and corporate accounting functions.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in accounting, 7+ years of corporate accounting, and experience with Deltek Vantagepoint and ERP systems. The position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent relevant experience.
• CMA or CPA certification preferred but not required.
• Seven or more years of corporate accounting experience preferred.
• Prior project accounting experience within the architecture, engineering, and/or construction industry preferred.
• Experience with Prevailing Wage.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP.
• Knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint preferred, experience with an ERP system required.
• AP full cycle exposure.
• Previous experience with mergers and acquisitions a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and report on project cost accounting per company policies.
• Act as a liaison between operations and corporate accounting functions including AP, payroll, etc.
• Review and analyze key performance metrics to support operations management and identify continuous improvement processes.
• Identify, research, and resolve project issues.
• Reconcile and analyze project cost reports to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Assist and work with the Regional Controller to provide various account reports and collections.
• Coordinate with project billers and managers to ensure accuracy of project setups and adherence to procedures.
• Update and maintain client budgets, consultant budgets, scope, pricing, change orders, and provide reporting.
• Assist with annual financial audit preparation as needed.
