Job summary

Bowman is seeking a Project Accountant to oversee and report on project cost accounting for the company. This remote role prefers candidates in the West Region (CA/NV) but can be done remotely from other US locations.

You will work closely with the Regional Controller, manage invoicing, analyze KPIs, and support audits while maintaining budgets and vendor payments. A CPA/CMA is preferred but not required; 7+ years of experience expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent relevant experience.
• CMA or CPA certification preferred but not required.
• 7+ years of corporate accounting experience.
• Project accounting experience within architecture/engineering/construction preferred.
• Experience with Prevailing Wage.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Deltek Vantagepoint knowledge preferred; ERP system experience required.
• AP full cycle exposure.
• Mergers and acquisitions experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and report on project cost accounting in adherence to company policies.
• Act as liaison between operations and corporate accounting functions such as AP and payroll.
• Review and analyze key performance metrics to support operations management.
• Manage monthly invoicing for projects and review vendor/subcontractor invoices.
• Assist Regional Controller with reports, collections, etc.
• Coordinate with project billers and managers to ensure accurate project setups.
• Prepare budgets, scope, pricing, change orders and reporting.
• Assist with annual financial audit preparation and petty cash reconciliation.
