Job summary

CAI is seeking a motivated Product Owner for a remote, full-time 3-month contract. You will align product vision with development, translate requirements into user stories, and maintain a prioritized backlog across multiple sprints to deliver user-focused outcomes and business value.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in product ownership or related fields, with strong stakeholder management and Agile certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Discipline, Information Management, or closely related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Strategic Consulting, Design Thinking, Product Development & Management, or Project/Program Management.
• 3+ years of experience working with external clients and fostering positive relationships and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to streamlining the execution of program priorities while maintaining conceptual and technical integrity for features or components.
• Collaborate with Solution Architect, Business Architect, Product Manager, and others to break down features into user stories.
• Act as a bridge between product and development teams by translating the product manager's vision into business and functional requirements, focusing on user outcomes.
• Maintain a well-groomed and prioritized backlog to support optimal team allocation for multiple (3+) sprints, ensuring backlog health and enforcing definition of ready and done.
• Recommend resolution paths to domain leadership if backlog health becomes insufficient.
• Accept stories as “Done” from the team, ensuring they meet defined acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to create, maintain, and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmap. Represent the product in team or minor governance meetings and track status for leadership.
• Work with product managers to understand problems they aim to solve with the product.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and align roadmaps for delivery execution and scope.
• Serve as a Servant-Leader for cross-functional teams, leveraging agile program and team metrics.
• Communicate product release contents and expected capabilities/behavior to stakeholders.
• Contribute to high-level release plans and continually reprioritize team tasks based on new information and discussions with stakeholders.
• Write clearly defined user stories for new product features, issues, and enhancements. Work with the team to implement improvement stories that enhance program quality.
• Review, update, and sign off test scripts for both in-track and regression testing to ensure full coverage of user stories
