Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Principal Fire Protection Engineer to serve as the technical authority for fire and life safety across utility-scale storage and energy projects.

The role ensures codes, standards, insurance, and client specs are met from design through commissioning, with remote work and travel as needed. The candidate will lead engineering standards, collaborate across disciplines, and drive cost-effective project delivery while maintaining safety and compliance on national

Qualifications

• 10+ years of fire protection engineering with energy infrastructure experience
• License (P.E.) in Fire Protection preferred
• Proven AHJ, fire marshal and code official collaboration experience
• Strong understanding of fire protection principles
• Experience managing external consultants and owner’s engineers

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on complex fire safety challenges and risk mitigation
• Establish company-wide fire engineering standards and design criteria
• Lead participation in national fire protection code committees; interface with AHJs, insurers and engineers
• Oversee project-level fire protection for BESS systems; develop basis-of-design and scopes of work
• QA/QC 3rd party deliverables to ensure standards alignment
• Collaborate with electrical/SCADA teams for design consistency
• Travel to in-person meetings as required; support testing and commissioning
