Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. seeks a Principal Fire Protection Engineer to act as the technical authority for fire and life safety on utility-scale storage and power projects. Lead design standards, code compliance, and interface with AHJs, insurers and engineers from concept to commissioning.

The role is fully remote nationwide with up to 25% travel; requires 10+ years in fire protection, a Bachelor’s in Fire Protection Engineering, and preferably a P.E. license.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in fire protection engineering with energy infrastructure experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related discipline.
• P.E. license preferred for leadership in the field.
• Proven AHJ interaction for permits, approvals, and inspections.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA/IBC/UL standards and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME guidance on complex fire safety and risk mitigation.
• Lead development of design criteria, standards, and best practices.
• Oversee fire protection EORs and project budgets across disciplines.
• Collaborate with electrical/SCADA teams to ensure design consistency.
• Support testing, commissioning, and field implementation.
