Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Principal Fire Protection Engineer to lead fire and life safety across utility-scale storage and power projects. This fully remote role requires overseeing standards, codes, and compliance from concept through commissioning, with travel up to 25% for in-person meetings.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in fire protection, a related bachelor’s degree, and PE preferred. You will coordinate with AHJs, insurers, and EORs while guiding cross-disciplinary teams to

Qualifications

• 10+ years of fire protection engineering experience, plus 2+ years in energy infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
• P.E. license in Fire Protection preferred.
• AHJ coordination and permitting experience with authorities having jurisdiction.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA, IBC, UL 9540/9540A, UL855 and related codes.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level guidance on complex fire safety challenges and risk mitigation.
• Establish company-wide engineering standards, design criteria, and best practices.
• Lead national fire protection code and standards committees; interface with AHJs and insurers.
• Manage EORs, scopes of work, schedules and budgets for fire protection.
• Collaborate with electrical/SCADA teams for design consistency and project efficiency.
• Support fire protection design optimization for cost, performance, constructability.
• Provide technical support during fire system testing and commissioning.
