Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. seeks a Principal Fire Protection Engineer to lead fire and life safety for utility-scale energy storage, power, and industrial EPC projects. This remote role ensures compliance with codes, insurance requirements, and client specs from concept through commissioning.

You will establish engineering standards, manage EORs, and coordinate with electrical/SCADA teams to optimize cost and constructability while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of fire protection engineering experience, with energy infrastructure exposure.
• Experience working with AHJs, fire marshals and code officials for approvals and permitting.
• Strong knowledge of fire protection principles, building codes, and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME guidance on complex fire safety challenges and risk mitigation.
• Establish company-wide engineering standards, design criteria, and best practices.
• Lead national fire protection code committees and interface with AHJs, insurers, and engineers; travel as needed.
• Oversee project-level fire protection for BESS and EPC systems, including budgets and schedules.
• QA/QC of third-party deliverables to ensure compliance with standards and project requirements.
