Job summary

SOLV Energy seeks a Principal Fire Protection Engineer to lead fire safety across energy storage, power, and industrial EPC projects. You will set design standards, ensure compliance with codes and client specs, and guide project delivery from concept to commissioning.

This fully remote role involves coordinating with AHJs, insurers, and cross-disciplinary teams to optimize cost, safety, and constructability. 10+ years in fire protection with energy infra experience required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of fire protection engineering experience, with ≥2 years in energy infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related discipline.
• P.E. license in Fire Protection Engineering preferred.
• Experience with AHJs, fire marshals, and permitting processes.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA, IBC, UL standards and project risk management.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME guidance on complex fire safety challenges.
• Develop standards, design criteria, and best practices.
• Lead national fire protection code and standards efforts.
• Interface with AHJs, insurers, and engineers; travel as needed.
• Oversee fire protection EORs, budgets, and schedules.
