Job summary

Kin Insurance, a remote-first home insurance company, seeks an entry-level Pricing & Risk Analyst to grow profitability state by state. You’ll turn policy, quote, and claims data into actionable insights, using Databricks Genie and Claude Code under guidance from experienced colleagues.

You’ll own recurring state performance reporting on quote volume, conversion, new business, premium, retention, and loss experience, while exploring geography, risk, coverage, and distribution to surface

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field; foundational SQL and Excel skills; experience analyzing data to identify patterns and explain findings; hands-on AI experience (Claude Code, Databricks Genie) and willingness to use MCP-enabled workflows; ability to explain findings clearly and stay curious; internships/coursework count as relevant exposure.

Responsibilities

• Own recurring state performance reporting on quote volume, quote-to-bind conversion, new business, premium, retention, and loss experience; investigate drivers of results.
• Analyze performance across geography, risk characteristics, coverage, and distribution channels to surface growth opportunities.
• Evaluate how proposed rate changes, underwriting rules, and shifts in business mix could affect growth and profitability.
• Use Databricks Genie to explore data, and Claude Code to write SQL queries, build scripts, automate reports, and document findings.
• Deliver clear charts and concise summaries for Pricing and Risk and partner teams, developing recommendations with experienced colleagues.
• Measure performance after pricing, underwriting, and product changes go live.
