Job summary

Kin Insurance is seeking a Pricing & Risk Analyst to support profitable growth across states and segments. You will transform policy, quote, and claims data into actionable recommendations, using Databricks Genie and Claude Code to explore data and automate recurring reports.

This remote-first role partners with state managers to understand pricing, underwriting rules, and market dynamics, while building expertise in insurance metrics and segmentation.

Qualifications

• Foundational SQL skills and proficiency with Excel or similar tools.
• Experience analyzing data to identify patterns and explain findings.
• Hands-on use of AI for analytical or coding tasks and willingness to use Claude Code, Databricks Genie, and MCP-enabled workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own recurring state performance reports on quote volume, conversion, new business, premium, retention, and loss experience.
• Analyze performance across geography, risk characteristics, coverage, and distribution channels to surface growth opportunities.
• Evaluate how rate changes, underwriting rules, and shifts in business mix could affect growth and profitability.
• Use Databricks Genie to explore data and Claude Code to write SQL queries, build scripts, and automate reports.
• Document data sources, calculations, and assumptions, and raise questions when results are uncertain.
• Deliver clear charts and concise summaries for Pricing and Risk teams, developing recommendations with colleagues.
• Measure performance after pricing, underwriting, and product changes go live.
