Kin Insurance is seeking a Pricing & Risk Analyst to help identify profitable state-by-state growth and segmentation opportunities. You will transform policy, quote, and claims data into actionable pricing insights, working with Databricks Genie, Claude Code, and MCP-enabled workflows with guidance from senior colleagues.

This entry-level role emphasizes learning how analytics drive pricing and risk decisions in a remote-first environment, collaborating with state managers and business partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or related field.
• Foundational SQL skills and proficiency with Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
• Experience analyzing data to identify patterns and explain findings.
• Hands-on experience using AI for analytical tasks and willingness to use Claude Code, Databricks Genie, and MCP-enabled workflows.
• Attention to detail and ability to verify AI-generated results before relying on them.
• Ability to explain findings in plain language and manage assignments with guidance.

Responsibilities

• Own recurring state performance reporting on quote volume, quote-to-bind conversion, new business, premium, retention, and loss experience.
• Analyze performance across geography, risk characteristics, coverage, and distribution channels to surface growth opportunities.
• Evaluate how proposed rate changes, underwriting rules, and shifts in business mix could affect growth and profitability.
• Build and maintain competitive research that informs state comparisons and pricing opportunities.
• Use Databricks Genie to explore data and Claude Code to write SQL queries and scripts; automate recurring reports.
• Bring relevant data and business context into analytical workflows through MCP connections.
• Validate data, calculations, and AI outputs; document sources and assumptions.
• Deliver clear charts and concise summaries for Pricing and Risk and partner teams, developing recommendations.
• Measure performance after pricing, underwriting, and product changes go live.
