Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Power Delivery Project Manager to lead distribution resiliency projects with remote or hybrid work options and periodic face‑to‑face meetings.

You will supervise cross‑functional teams, manage budgets and schedules, ensure compliance with NERC/IEEE/NEC standards, and coordinate with utilities, regulators, and clients.

This role requires 7–10+ years in power delivery, a relevant engineering degree, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • 7–10+ years of relevant post education experience in Power Delivery/Utility Industry or related design.
  • Familiarity with NERC, IEEE standards, NEC codes, and utility regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with EPC project delivery, capital programs, and infrastructure projects in the energy sector.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills in complex utility environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management with utilities, clients, regulators, and internal teams.
  • Experience with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera P6), financial tracking, and reporting systems.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams including engineering, design, procurement, and construction professionals.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC processes, risk management, and safety compliance in utility projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams delivering power distribution, substation, and utility engineering projects.
  • Manage multiple projects with budgets, schedules, cost control, and resources.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, and resource plans for capital programs and T&D projects.
  • Build and maintain Work Breakdown Structures aligned with EPC delivery models.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols.
  • Participate in proposal development, RFP responses, and business development.
  • Perform margin analysis, risk assessments, and contingency planning.
  • Coordinate contract negotiations, client presentations, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Develop and maintain PMP, Safety Plans, Risk Management Plans, and QA/QC procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams in distribution design, protection & controls, relay systems, and grid automation.
  • Partner with Project Accounting for forecasting and earned value management.
  • Lead change management, scope control, and claims mitigation.
  • Staffing coordination for overhead and underground projects; renewable interconnections.
  • Ensure HSE adherence and escalate as needed.
  • Provide reporting on project performance to clients and leadership.
  • Manage project closeout and lessons learned.
