Job summary

TransPerfect is seeking a Project Manager to lead on-site data collection projects with a focus on user studies. This remote role prefers candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area or Los Angeles; travel within the USA is required for launches and checkpoints.

You will own end-to-end delivery, manage timelines and budgets, and communicate with clients, while guiding a team of internal staff and contractors to ensure top-quality execution.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of PM experience in on-site data collection, research operations or user study execution.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple vendors and constraints.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent discipline/experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of on-site data collection projects supporting user studies (e.g., usability tests, intercepts, diary studies with in-person components).
• Build and manage detailed project plans and schedules with milestones and staffing.
• Own budget management: forecasting, tracking spend vs. plan, managing vendors and change requests.
• Create and deliver client-facing presentations: kickoffs, weekly updates, risk/issue reviews, final readouts.
• Coordinate on-site logistics: site readiness, staffing, equipment, access and participant flow.
• Manage project team members and vendors: set expectations, track deliverables, remove blockers.
• Ensure data quality and privacy compliance per study requirements.
• Maintain rigorous project documentation and reporting (status logs, risk registers, timelines).
• Identify risks early and drive mitigation with clear options and recommendations.
