Job summary

SmithRx is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a 6‑month remote contract to support members, providers, pharmacies, and internal teams in navigating prescription coverage and prior authorization processes. You will verify coverage, triage clinical reviews, and outreach to pharmacies and prescribers to gather necessary information.

This role requires an active license, 2–4 years of technician experience, and proficiency with Mac, MS Office, and G‑Suite.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Active Pharmacy Technician license required.
• 2–4 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Experience in prior authorization review preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify eligibility and drug coverage under the plan benefit design.
• Triaging clinical review for prior authorization requests per protocols.
• Reviewing prior authorization requests using criteria, history, and plan rules.
• Coordinate outreach to prescribers and pharmacies to gather information.
• Support to triage and troubleshoot questions and escalations.
• Assist with drug access workflows and policy adherence.
