The role requires a current pharmacy technician license, 1+ year of experience in a call center or healthcare setting, and strong communication and computer skills in a structured, metrics-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Active pharmacy technician license per state requirements, or active national certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience in healthcare or call center.
• Minimum of 1 year of high-volume customer service or call center experience; healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy terminology, medication processes, and prior authorization workflows.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills and ability to use multiple systems.
• Ability to document call activity, case information, and approvals/denials accurately.
• Reliable attendance and ability to complete mandatory training.

Responsibilities

• Handle a high volume of inbound calls from members, providers, and healthcare professionals.
• Provide professional customer service while guiding callers through prior authorization.
• Review clinical documentation for completeness according to criteria.
• Document approvals, denials, and case information promptly.
• Escalate clinical questions to a pharmacist as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and follow regulatory requirements.
• Navigate multiple computer systems while recording details.
• Participate in outbound calls as required by business needs.
