• 2–4 years of Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Experience in prior authorization review (PBM/health plan) preferred.
• Proficiency in Mac, MS Office, G-Suite.
• Critical thinking to navigate complex benefit plans to make sound clinical decisions.
• Active listening with empathy.
• Strong multitasking and time management.
• Clear verbal and written communication with members, clients, pharmacies, providers, and teams.

Responsibilities

• Verify eligibility and drug coverage to determine claims processing.
• Triage prior authorization requests per established protocols.
• Review prior authorization needs using criteria and outreach to verify information.
• Organize and prioritize multiple requests for timely case management.
• Build and adjust authorizations within the claim adjudication system.
• Navigate drug products and perform basic calculations for claims adjudication.
• Critically assess and synthesize workflows to make sound clinical decisions.
• Coordinate outreach and address questions/escalations across teams.
• Assess when approvals can be given or need pharmacist denial.
• Assess when internal/external review is needed based on protocols.
• Reach out to external stakeholders for approvals on drugs with dollar limits.
