Job summary

Novogradac is seeking a Principal to oversee public housing authority (PHA) audit engagements and lead a team of professionals. The role focuses on government and affordable housing audits while contributing to the Firm’s broader Tax/Audit practice.

You will guide engagements, develop new business, and represent the Firm in the community. The ideal candidate has CPA licensure, 9+ years in public accounting, and strong leadership, communication, and technical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA license required.
• 9+ years in public accounting or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Ability to manage a fee base of at least $1,000,000 and grow yearly.
• Strong verbal and written communication and professional judgment.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and travel domestically as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee client engagements from planning through completion with minimal supervision.
• Supervise and mentor staff, provide technical guidance and development.
• Identify and pursue new clients and meet annual sales goals.
• Represent the Firm publicly, participate in panels and trainings.
• Enhance client relationships and grow firm profitability through efficient time management.
