Job summary

Novogradac is seeking a Principal to oversee Public Housing Authority (PHA) audit engagements and related tax/audit work. You will manage client engagements, mentor staff, and pursue new business while maintaining the firm’s high standards.

The role emphasizes PHA, HUD, and compliance audits with opportunities to shape the practice. We value a CPA with deep accounting knowledge, proven leadership, and the ability to meet demanding deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred or required; 9+ years in public accounting.
• Exhibit expert understanding of accounting and tax rules; deliver technically correct projects.
• Able to manage a fee base of at least $1,000,000 as Principal-1, increasing annually.

Responsibilities

• Oversee client engagements from planning to completion with minimal supervision.
• Conduct engagement reviews and mentor staff at all levels.
• Identify new clients and pursue sales; meet annual sales goals.
• Develop and maintain client relationships; contribute to firm branding and publications.
• Ensure timely delivery and high-quality work; manage deadlines and budgets.
