Job summary

Novogradac seeks a Principal to manage PHA and HUD audit engagements, supervise staff, and grow client relationships. The role emphasizes leadership, budgeting, and delivering high-quality work with strong technical expertise in government and affordable housing audits.

You will work with Partners, travel domestically as needed, and contribute to firm publications and business development efforts. CPA is required and a robust fee base is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (advanced degree a plus).
• CPA license required.
• Strong understanding of accounting and tax rules with technically correct deliverables.
• Ability to manage a fee base of at least $1,000,000 as Principal-1, increasing yearly.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple client engagements from planning to completion with minimal supervision.
• Conduct engagement reviews and ensure quality and timeliness.
• Mentor and evaluate professional staff and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Identify, pursue and secure new clients and sales of work.
• Meet annual sales goals and translate technical knowledge into client value.
